Feasibility Study of the Rehabilitation/Improvement of the Zamboanga Fish Port Complex Project, 2016
“Turning Zamboanga Fish Port into a Full Service Hub”
The Project was commissioned by the Philippine Fisheries Development Authority (PFDA) with financing under the Project Development and other Related Studies (PDRS) fund being administered by the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) as contracting agency. The Project sought to come up with a comprehensive feasibility study for the rehabilitation and improvement of the Zamboanga Fish Port Complex which is a major contributor to the economy of Zamboanga City in the Philippines. The fish port complex benefits large segments of the city’s population including fisherfolks, vessel operators, fish brokers, traders and processors, storage and ice plant operators, and agricultural support groups.
CEST, Inc. as associate firm assessed the existing physical conditions of the port infrastructures; evaluated the water supply, drainage and sewerage facilities; conducted technical, and preliminary environmental and social impacts assessments to determine viability of the rehabilitation project; prepared the preliminary engineering designs of improvement works for the water supply, drainage, and sewerage facilities including cost estimates; assisted in the options analysis for the rehabilitation of the fish port facilities.
