Our Flagship Projects

Flagship projects featured in this site include large projects of extensive geographical coverage and above PhP50 Million in contract worth; complex projects of sizable physical and structural dimensions; other sector projects  beyond basic core competencies; projects highlighting innovations that set trends in planning, management and execution; international projects undertaken in global settings; and newly awarded and ongoing projects.

At the heart of CEST’s project engagements are initiatives promoting efficient use of water resources, environmental sustainability, natural resources management, and including in large part, sanitation and wastewater management. The company’s involvement in projects that facilitated the establishment of water supply infrastructures from source development, treatment, storage and delivery to homes and communities as well as in protecting water resources through suitable sanitation and wastewater management systems is a testament to the company’s commitment to help build livable environments today, and into the future.

CEST’s portfolio of projects are spread geographically, majority of which are in the Philippines and some in South Asia and South East Asia. The projects cover both urban and rural settings including conflict-affected areas in the Philippines. The company has implemented projects encompassing nearly the entire Philippines involving small to large and complex systems and structures.

Water Supply

Access to efficient, adequate, and reliable domestic water supply is essential in propelling and sustaining economic growth. Water is essential for life as air, and the absence or lack of it is so vital in modern societies that it has been declared among the universal basic human rights. It is covered by Goal 6 of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG-6) of the United Nations (UN) and is a fundamental aspect of the Philippine Development Plans (PDP) since its adoption as the overarching strategy for the country’s economic development.

Water is a finite resource and achieving water efficiency in both its allocation and utilization is as crucial as achieving equitable and affordable water supply. Adherence to the principles of water stewardship (water governance, water balance, water quality, and the spatial aspects within the water basin) and integrated water resources management is part of CEST’s every project endeavor in this sector.

CEST has successfully completed more than 80 water supply projects to date with financing from the Philippine government, official development assistance (ODA, bilateral and multilateral), and private entities. These projects range from small to large and complex water systems and infrastructures involving both government and private clients such as national government agencies, local government units, water districts, and private water concessionaires and/or companies as proponents of public-private partnership water supply projects, e.g. bulk water or distribution.

Sanitation and Wastewater

An important aspect of public health management is access to an effective sanitation system. Similar to water supply, it is part of Goal 6 of the SDG targets as well as of the Philippine Development Plan. Sanitation is vital in ensuring clean environment, protection of water resources, and nurturing of human health through the prevention of transmission of water-borne diseases.

CEST puts premium in reviewing the entire sanitation value chain in the planning and design of suitable sanitation systems by looking at the whole process from the capture, storage, transport, treatment and disposal or reuse of human excreta and wastewater. The investment in putting up a sanitation system is valued based on its overall impact to public health and the environment.

Of the more than 40 sanitation projects completed by CEST, majority are in urban centers, tourism spots, and urbanizing/emerging economic growth areas. A sizeable number of projects involved basic to improved sanitation systems from provision of toilet facilities to the establishment of desludging services and septage treatment facilities. Some of the projects involved sewerage systems mostly in Metro Manila areas and in similar highly urbanized cities.
