Feasibility Studies for Non-Revenue Water Reduction and Control Projects and Concept Designs for Sanitation Projects, 2015 – 2016
“Inspiring Wisdom in Averting Water Loss and in the Rehabilitation of Marine and Coastal Ecosystem of Manila Bay”
The Project was implemented by the Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA) with financing under the Project Development and other Related Studies (PDRS) fund being administered by the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) as contracting agency. A total of 32 feasibility studies and concept designs of sanitation subprojects and 16 feasibility studies of non-revenue water (NRW) reduction and control subprojects were developed for the beneficiary water districts in the provinces of Abra, Nueva Vizcaya, Bataan, Pampanga, Bulacan, Batangas,
Aklan, Negros Occidental, and Sorsogon in the Philippines. The developed sanitation subprojects in the areas surrounding Manila Bay marked the crucial step forward in complying with the Writ of Continuing Mandamus issued by the Philippine Supreme Court to expedite the rehabilitation and restoration of marine and coastal ecosystem of the Manila Bay.
CEST, Inc. as lead firm managed the preparation of 16 feasibility studies for NRW reduction and control and developed 32 concept designs of sanitation subprojects. Activities included the supervision of the field surveys for assessing non-revenue water, evaluation of technical and financial viability of the subprojects, preparation of preliminary engineering designs, cost estimates, and bill of quantities, conduct of value engineering/value analysis, formulation of financial projections, financing plan, and water tariff, and the conduct of capacity building and technology transfer training program for LWUA and NEDA personnel.
