The Project involved the preparation of the feasibility study that was commissioned with funding from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for Manila Water Company, Inc. (MWCI) to jumpstart the implementation of the comprehensive wastewater management program covering the three river systems of Pasig, Marikina, and San Juan. The feasibility study aimed to increase sewerage coverage to 100% in the MWCI’s east concession area by 2018 under the Three Rivers Master Plan. The three river systems serve as the main waterways and conveyance of water pollution of the cities of Makati, Mandaluyong, Pasig, Manila, Taytay and Rizal.
CEST, Inc. as associate firm conducted field investigation surveys including dry weather flow measurements and water quality sampling; assisted in the preparation of the feasibility study such as in the options analysis, risk analysis and mitigation, preparation of preliminary engineering designs of the Sewerage Treatment Plant (STP) and combined sewer network, financial and economic analyses, and preliminary environmental and social impact assessments.
