Provincial Cities Water Supply Project V, 1997 – 2005
“Upscaling Facility Structures of Water Districts”
The Project was implemented by the Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA) with funding from the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC). It benefited 11 water districts in various locations in the Philippines through the development of new water sources, rehabilitation and expansion of distribution networks, and management of non-revenue water (NRW). Additionally, the Project facilitated LWUA’s implementation of its Information System Strategic Plan (ISSP) through which a departmental-wide information system network infrastructure was established alongside the development of critical software packages that helped facilitate operational and management efficiency.
CEST, Inc., as associate firm reviewed and updated feasibility studies and preliminary designs, conducted hydrology and hydrogeology studies and investigations of new water sources, topographic surveys, sub-surface soil explorations, pipe leak detection, detailed engineering designs, and construction supervision. Other services involved pre- and post-construction activities such as the preparation of Operation and Maintenance Manuals, review of water tariffs, and environmental and social impact studies.
